Ingredients

Scale

Base Layer

  • 2 cans (8 ounces each) crescent roll dough

Meats

  • 1/4 lb thinly sliced capicola (Italian ham)
  • 1/4 lb pepperoni
  • 1/4 lb thinly sliced salami

Cheeses

  • 1/2 lb thinly sliced provolone cheese
  • 1/2 lb sliced Colby Jack cheese

Vegetables & Seasonings

  • 1 cup pepperoncini, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • Optional: garlic powder (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Base Layer: Roll out one can of crescent roll dough and press it firmly into the bottom of the baking dish. Pinch the seams together to create a solid, uniform layer serving as the crust base.
  3. Layer Fillings: Evenly arrange the thinly sliced capicola, salami, and pepperoni over the dough. Next, layer the provolone and Colby Jack cheeses evenly atop the meats. Distribute the sliced pepperoncini over the cheese layers for a tangy kick.
  4. Add Top Layer: Roll out the second can of crescent roll dough and carefully drape it over the layered fillings. Pinch the seams tightly all around to seal the layers inside the dough.
  5. Season and Brush: Brush the surface of the top dough layer with olive oil to promote browning and flavor. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning evenly over the top. Optionally, add a light sprinkle of garlic powder to enhance the savory profile.
  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes, or until the dough turns golden brown and is cooked through.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for about 15 minutes to set. Slice into squares and serve warm or at room temperature for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • For a spicier touch, add crushed red pepper flakes to the meat layer.
  • Use a mix of your favorite Italian cold cuts for variety.
  • Letting the dish cool slightly before slicing helps the filling set and prevents oozing.
  • Serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and reheat before serving.
