Roll Ups
- 4 12-inch flour tortillas
- 4 slices Provolone cheese (about 5 ounces)
- 1/2 lb deli sliced roast beef
- 3/4 cup French fried onions
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Dipping Sauce
- 1 can (10.5 oz) beef consommé
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425ºF to prepare for baking the roll ups.
- Assemble Ingredients: Lay the 4 tortillas on a clean counter. Tear the provolone into small pieces and evenly distribute over each tortilla. Top each with deli sliced roast beef, then sprinkle French fried onions over the beef.
- Roll Tortillas: Fold in the sides of each tortilla, then roll tightly. Brush a bit of olive oil on the edge to seal the roll and place seam side down on a baking sheet. Repeat for all tortillas.
- Brush with Olive Oil: Lightly brush the tops of all roll ups with the remaining olive oil to promote browning.
- Bake Roll Ups: Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and crispy on the outside, about 10 minutes.
- Prepare Dipping Sauce: While baking, combine the beef consommé, water, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium until warmed through and fragrant.
- Serve: Remove roll ups from the oven and cut each in half. Serve warm with the hot dipping sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
- You can substitute Provolone with Swiss or Mozzarella cheese if preferred.
- For a spicier twist, add a dash of cayenne pepper to the dipping sauce.
- Make sure to seal the tortillas well so they don’t unroll while baking.
- French fried onions add a crunchy texture—don’t skip them!
- These roll ups are best eaten fresh but can be reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
